Major insurance event in Malaysia

PETALING JAYA: For the first time in 45 years, Malaysia will host the 23rd Pacific Insurance Conference, a major event that will see the meeting of minds of the top insurance executives globally.

The event’s general chairman and also president of the Life Insurance Association of Malaysia (Liam) Ng Lian Lu said the conference would enable industry leaders to share their experience in developing effective strategies to “elevate the industry to greater heights”.

“This will help improve the local penetration rate of life insurance, which is 40% at the moment, as participants will be able to learn from their counterparts effective ways of selling insurance products.”

According to Ng, a Special Executive Panel has been planned to allow prominent speakers from outside the insurance industry to also share their views on various issues with regard to the life insurance industry. The conference, organised by Liam, would be held at the Shangri-La Hotel, Kuala Lumpur, from Oct 28 to 31, with the theme, “New Solutions for Traditional Challenges: Winning Ideas from Industry Leaders”.
